There is no other way to describe the ongoing MK Sports International football scouting than using the word ‘mammoth’ because the whole place is jam-packed with players from across the length and breadth of the country.
This is arguably the highest influx of players recorded in the federal capital territory, FCT since football scouting has been taking place.
In fact some people mistaken it for the Golden Eaglets screening that used to take place every two year at the Package B Goal Project of the MKO Abiola Stadium, Abuja.
The screening which started on Wednesday saw football talents from all walks of life on parade to showcase themselves and hoping to be picked by the scouts of MK Sports International, owners of Water Football Club, an academy which is preparing to participate in the Nigerian league next season.
Speaking during the screening, chairman of MK Sports Int’l, Mr. Nureni Makanjuola said his joy is to see that young people make it in life and he is happy to create such platform for the boys to be discovered and nurtured to stardom.
His words, “I just want to help the society in my own little way. Seeing these massive football talents is a fact that the country is blessed but they need to be properly guided.”
Recalled that many players of international repute were discovered by MK Sports International, notable among them are Gabriel Okechukwu, Babatunde Michael, just to mention a few.
It is interesting to note that no amount of money was collected by the organizer for participation in the ongoing scouting programme which will end tomorrow, Friday, unlike what it used to be in the past.
