The chairperson of the Women Football Committee, Ms. Ngozi Ezeh said the Federal Capital Territory, FCT Football Association will continue to give the needed support to clubs in the territory to succeed.
She stated this while presenting an award to the chairman of Naija Ratels Football Club, Barr. Paul Edeh in his office today at the Mambila Barracks, Abuja.
Ms. Ezeh who represented the FCT FA chairman, Alh. Adam Mouktar said they are very happy and proud of what Naija Ratels have achieved in less than two years of existence in Abuja.

She specifically commended Naija Ratels for gaining promotion to the Premier League of the Nigeria Women Football League, NWFL, and also for qualifying for the Super Six of the league.
“We are proud of you. You have done well and needed to be encouraged and that is why we are recognizing you with this award. You did not only bring premier league football back to the FCT but you also gave employment to those young girls out there and gave them a living by taking them off the street.” Ms. Ezeh concluded.
Responding, the chairman of Naija Ratels Football Club, Barr. Paul Edeh appreciated the FCT FA and the Women Football Committee for the award. He said he was not expecting such recognition.
According to him, “I just want to see how to give back to the society especially to the girl child and take them out of the street. We will continue to do more to justify our participation in the league by going the extra mile.”
It would be recalled that the Naija Ratels, with arrays of very young girls came to Abuja last year and gained promotion to the elite league, Premier in just one year of their participation, the second time the FCT is having a team in the NWFL Premier league.
