The chairman of the Naija Ratels Football Club, Barrister Paul Edeh said very soon, they will unveil their male football team that will participate in the league.
He made this revelation when he was giving his acceptance speech after he was honoured with an award of recognition for his contribution to the development of female football.
Barr. Edeh further said they have succeeded in the female category within a short period of time, very soon they will come up with the male folks.
“I want to sincerely thank the FCT FA Chairman, the Women Football Chairperson, the Secretary and the entire board and all those who are here today to do me this honour. I want to tell you that this is the beginning of greater heights. Of course, the Secretary was very careful in choosing his words, when he was talking about female football, not to worry, we are coming to the male folks.
“So we are hoping that when we eventually come to the male folks, we will be able to have more of this (award). I think we can do creditably well to take football to the next stage,” he noted.
Meanwhile, on the performance of the girls, he said, “If the young girls are given opportunity, it shows that they will do very well. As part of it is that we have been able to produce players that are representing the country in a short space of time.
“What that means is that if government and other individuals invest in these girls, they can make this nation proud,” he said.
It would be recalled that Barr. Paul Edeh was given an award on Monday by the FCT Football Association through the FCT Women Football Competition.
