
Minister of Youth and Sports Development, Mr. Sunday Dare says his wish is for Super Eagles winger, Samuel Chukwueze who plays for Villareal Football Club of Spain, to win the UEFA Champions League, UCL.
He stated this when he received the UEFA Champions League trophy in his office at the Moshood Abiola Stadium, Abuja yesterday.
The minister who received the delegation from the Nigerian Breweries Plc also had Nigerian legends – Austin Okocha and Daniel Amokachi in their entourage with Clarence Seedorf the Heineken UEFA Champions League trophy tour, Ambassador.

His words, “I want to appreciate Nigerian Breweries Plc for considering Nigeria as one of the countries to receive the trophy. Our august visitor even though we are in April, Seedorf Clarence, you are welcome.
“The UEFA Champions League trophy is one of the prestigious trophy in the world after the FIFA World cup. Nigerians have made very significant contribution by winning the title. The likes of Finidi George, Kanu Nwankwo, who incidentally were teammates of Seedorf. Also not forgetting Mikel Obi with Chelsea. My prayer is for Chukwueze to win this year’s own with Villareal. You saw the beautiful goal he scored…,” Mr. Dare noted.
Meanwhile, Clarence Seedorf is the only player that has won the UEFA Champions League trophy three times with three different clubs – Ajax Amsterdam, AC Milan and Real Madrid.
The UEFA Champions League trophy first landed in Lagos before it arrived Abuja, the federal capital territory. The essence of the tour according to the organisers, is to bring the trophy closer to the fans.
