
Federal Capital Territory, FCT Team A emerged as the champions of the Nigeria Military School, NMS Ex-Boys 68th Inter-Chapter (State) Foundation Five-Aside Football Competition on Saturday at the Maitama Garden Five-Aside Football Pitch, Abuja.
The boys who gave good account of themselves thrashed Kaduna by 5-2. The first half ended in a 2-2 draw before the FCT boys ran riot, scoring three unreplied goals to make it 5-2 at full time.
Meanwhile, InnocentMathias of FCT Team A won the Most Valuable Player, MVP award for his consistent and excellent performance throughout the two-day tournament.
At the award presentation on Sunday, he said, “I want to say a big thank you to the management of this team and all the players. I dedicate this award to you. I also want to commend the chairman and executives for giving us the opportunity to represent this great chapter. I am so happy today because we didn’t just come back home with the trophy but we took everything.

“Personally, I want to say thank you for believing in me and helping me to achieve this goal, it wouldn’t have been possible without you all. I pray that God continue to give me the grace to fly the EXBA colours higher wherever I find myself. We are all MVPs,” Mathias concluded.
Speaking at the event, the vice chairman of the FCT Chapter of the NMS Ex-Boys, Mr. Ponfa Yilme commended his team for the victory. He however thanked his chairman, Mr. Funsho Yusuf specially for his support towards the team. “Sir you added serious colour to our team.
“To all Ex-Boys of this great Chapter, we say a big thank you for your moral support always. To our team of players, I say a big well-done guys, you are all MVPs. God bless Nigeria! God bless EXBA!! God bless FCT Chapter!!! One for all, all for one!” he concluded.
The FCT Team A went home with the trophy, MVP award and cash prize.
The football tournament and golf competition is part of the activity to mark the foundation day celebration of the NMS which will come up on the 20th of May, 2022.
