Police Machine Football Team on Saturday at their home ground, Nyanya Football Pitch grounded Flight Football Club of Gboko, Benue State by 1-0.
The only goal of the match was scored by Harmony Yanus in the 35th minute through a well-curled freekick from outside the 18-yard box. The scorer was later booked in the 44th minute for bad tackle.
Meanwhile, in the course of the match, the Police Machine missed so many glaring chances due to a yeoman job by the goalkeeper of Flight FC, Menlai Bensen who denied the Police Boys from adding to their tally, stopping their moves and shots.
On the other hand, the Gboko boys gave good account of themselves, proving that they did not come to Abuja to look at the bridges but to play football and almost getting the equalizer but were unlucky.
Meanwhile, after the match, the team manager of the team, Mr. Daniel Kwaji said he is happy to get the three points at stake.
He however admitted that the Flight FC played very well but his boys were more superior in their tactical approach hence the win. He commended his boys for not letting down their supporters at home.
Meanwhile, the Flight FC coach and his assistant, who refused to speak, due to anger, alleged that the referee did not handle the match well, claiming that they were robbed and that he ended the match abruptly without additional time.
