Chairman of Federal Capital Territory, FCT Badminton Association of Nigeria, Mr. Gabriel Gbayan has implored the FCT Minister, Mohammed Musa Bello for better badminton courts in the territory.
He made the appeal when he and his board members paid a courtesy call on the acting Director of Sports, Mr. Luka Istifanus in his office at the Department of Sports Secretariat, Garki, Abuja, yesterday.
The chairman who was in company of the Board members of Badminton Association, commended the minister for the support they have enjoyed so far but used the opportunity to ask for more through the acting director.

He however disclosed that the visit is to congratulate the director for his appointment as the acting director of Sports. He however appealed for more cooperation from him.
While receiving the Board, Mr. Luka said the visit ought to have been the other way round because the Badminton Association has done marvelous jobs, putting the FCT on the Gold medal tables on several occasions.
He however singled out the Association as the best in the territory that have always put the FCT in good light despite the non-availability of funds.
His words, “The visit supposed to have been done the other way round because the Association has done greatly. Badminton is number one in FCT in terms of achievements. For instance, the sport kits used at the last National Sports Festival, NSF was bought by Badminton because our own did not arrive on time. The FCT wouldn’t have had jersey if the Association was not proactive. We ask that you continue with the good job you are doing.”
The Badminton Association later presented a well-decorated congratulatory card to Mr. Luka Istifanus, while wishing him well in his new appointment.
