Fosla Football Club of Karshi Abuja at the end of the first stanza of the NLO Division F1 finished top of the table with 14 points from seven matches.
They won four matches, drew two and lost one. They scored nine goals conceding four. They had plus five goals advantage.
The Sani-Lulu-led team at the weekend went for an away match against Onyibe FC of Lafia and won by a lone goal to consolidate their leadership on the group.
The match which was played at the Federal University Lafia Football Pitch was well contested by the two teams but a beautifully curved free kick by Meshack Awoje in the 32nd minutes was all that separated the two teams.
The host who came all out in the second half to ensure an equaliser met a brick wall of defense perfectly marshaled by Gabriel Achu, Zakari Amodu, and Dauda Jibrin. Former National Future Eagles goalkeeper Moses Aluko was a classic to watch as he ensured that his team recorded the all important away win.
Reacting at the end of match, the Proprietor of the Club and former NFF President, Alhaji Sani Lulu Abdullahi commended the resilience of the boys to emerged victorious at the end of the game. He advised them not to be carried away by the success, saying that the League is a marathon where the end justifies the means.
Recalled that the Police Machine FC of Abuja also on Saturday defeated Flight FC of Gboko, Benue State by a lone goal. By that result, they finished the stanza with thirteen points from seven points and are second on the log table.
