The General Secretary of the Nigeria Football Federation, NFF, Dr. Mohammed Sanusi said the Flying Eagles swept all the awards in Niger Republic during the just-concluded WAFU B Tournament.
He made this disclosure when the team was being hosted to a reception by the Ministry of Youth and Sports Development led by Mr. Sunday Dare at the VIP Lounge of the MKO Abiola Stadium, Abuja.
According to Dr. Sanusi, the team won all the: Man of the Match awards, the Most Valuable Player award, the Most Disciplined team and then the trophy. He noted that the team narrowly missed the highest goal scorer award but the Flying Eagles player… came second with four goals to his kitty.
Dr. Sanusi said he is proud of the team because they exhibit discipline and commitment to the goals before them and believe that if they continue this way, nothing will stand before them and the trophies in the upcoming AFCON and World Cup events respectively.
Meanwhile, the coach of the team, Ladan Bosso disclosed that all the boys in his team got their chances by merit. He further said their success in Niger Republic is small compare to what they intend to achieve in the African Cup of Nations and the World Cup proper.
