Ibom Angels Football Club player, Ijeoma Oweagba said they have what it takes to gain promotion to the premier league of the Nigeria Women Football League, NWFL.
She stated this in an interview with the media crew of Ibom Angels Football Club on Monday.
It would be recalled that Ijeoma was the woman of the day as she scored a brace to defeat hard fighting Dreamstars of Lagos by 2-0.
The encounter was one of the opening games in the ongoing NWFL Championships playoffs taking place at Dina Dipo International stadium in Ijebu-Ode, Ogun State
The two goals were scored in each half of the match as Ime John assist helped Ijeoma to net in her first goal in the 8 minutes while the second goal came in at the 56 minutes from the spot kick.
In an interview at the end of the encounter, coach of Dreamstars Ayinla Rasheed blamed the defeat on lack of concentration by his players as the early goal destabilized his team.
His words, “I really have to give kudos to my girls though losing the game, we are not giving up as anything can still happen in the remaining matches.”
Also speaking, the coach of Ibom Angels FC, Prince Usen Ebuk expressed satisfaction with his players, saying he is looking forward to another victory in Tuesday’s game against Oasis Ladies FC. “It is done and dusted in the first match now we’re focusing on our next match which is very vital to us.”
The Orange Ladies as Ibom Angels FC are known, will slug it out against Oasis Ladies FC, who defeated Royaltoms FC 2-1.
The match will be played by 4pm at the main bowl of Dino Dipo International stadium.
