Chairman of the Local Organising Committee, LOC of the Abuja Municipal Area Council, 2022 AMAC Unity Cup, Mr. Akeem Aregbe said this year’s tournament is going to stand out with the kind of plans that has been put in place.
He stated this at the venue of Draws and Seminar organized for the participating teams at the Area 10 office of the FCT Football Association secretariat, Abuja.
He further said, “We are expecting dignitaries from all walks of life and the Special Guest of Honour is going to be the FCT Football Association chairman, Alhaji Adam Mouktar.”
Meanwhile, the draw which took place yesterday also witness a seminar with two resource persons presenting papers. A FIFA-badged retired referee, Bose Momoh presented a paper on Laws of the Game while Coach Mansur Abdullahi presented a paper on Ethics of Coaching.
The 32 participating teams and their representatives were around at the draws and seminar.
The opening ceremony is expected to take place at the Area 3 Football Pitch on Monday. This year’s tournament will also feature the female teams participating for the first time.
Also speaking, the leader of the AMAC Football Coaches Council, Mr. Kenny Owojori said with what he has seen so far, he is optimistic that this year’s tournament is not only going to be better but unique in all ramifications.
