Lobi Stars target maximum points against Remo Stars to consolidate on relegation exit

As the battle for survival in the 2021/2022 NPFL season thickens with increasing unpredictability, Lobi Stars will be aiming at the maximum points on Sunday, June 19 as they slug it out against continental hopefuls, Remo Stars in their week 34 fixture in Ikenne, Ogun State.
The ‘Pride of Benue’ are currently placed 14th on the log with 40 points from 32 completed games, a convenience that had eluded them since MatchDay 18.
Meanwhile, the ‘Betnaija boys’ are occupying an enviable 5th position with 50 points from 33 games and are in strong contention for one of the continental tickets.
However, the huge difference on the log between the two clubs may not be enough yardstick to determine who carries the day as Lobi Stars have recently put up a spectacular performance, losing only once, after winning 3 with 2 draws in their last 6 games to accumulate 11 points out of a possible 18.
On their part, Remo Stars have won 2, drawn 1 and lost 3 in the corresponding period to garner only 7 points out of 18.
Though Remo Stars have been outstanding in the current season, their opponents from Makurdi have not lost any game to them all through their history of football rivarly as they have engaged in seven contests,with Lobi Stars winning four with three draws.
Consequently, if the current form and the all time head-to-head between the two teams is anything to go by, the Mohammed BabaGanaru tutored lads are the favourites to nick the maximum points in Sunday’s battle of stars.
Moreover, an improved performance that has translated into 8 goals in 6 matches for Lobi Stars averaging 1.33 goals per match as against Remo Stars 4 in same 6 games, averaging a dismal 0.67 goals per game, should be enough motivation for the ‘Shoe get size’ boys to win against Remo Stars and bade the drop zone a final bye.
