Muhammadu Buhari Affordable Staff Housing Scheme: Coordinator eulogizes Minister of State as natives get compensation

The Coordinator Satellite Towns Development Department, Comrade Obinna Francis Ogwuegbu has paid glowing tributes to the Hon Minister of State, FCT, Dr Ramatu Tijjani Aliyu for her initiative behind the Muhammadu Buhari Affordable FCTA/ FCDA Staff Housing Scheme, Karshi.
The Coordinator made the remark during the flag- off of the payment of compensation to the owners of the plots of land in the 60-hectare land proposed for the Scheme, held at the Conference Hall of the FCDA, Area 11, Garki, Abuja, on Monday.
The Coordinator further noted that “the project is one that is very dear to Dr Ramatu Tijjanu Aliyu, the Hon Minister of State, FCT. She is the initiator of this project and in line with the mandate of the Administration to provide housing for at least, 5OOO Nigerians in the FCT. So, its also right that we give her the due recognition and commendation in initiating this project because its going to take a lot of people out of the housing problem in the FCT and the ripple effect will be massive.”
The Coordinator also lauded the immense role being played by the Hon Minister of State in ensuring the peaceful coexistence existing between the Federal Capital Territory Administration and the natives.
Speaking on the amount involved in the exercise, he said, “Well, we are doing it in batches, we have been paying compensation over a period of time, but this particular exercise which we are making public because of the involvement of the developers is about #43 million, and its fully paid by the developers.
“It shows the premium the investors have in the templates FCTA has developed towards providing infrastructure, opening up the satellite towns, providing housing for Nigerians and also implementing the mandate of President Muhammadu Buhari,” he noted.
Also speaking, the Director, Housing, Arc. Usman Isyaku, stated that ” we thank God for seeing this day. It has been a long journey. My only advice is that I hope the indigenes now will consider today to be the beginning of this project so that the developers will have unhindered access to the site.”
On her part, the Director, Resettlement and Compensation, FCDA, ESV Perpetual Ohammah noted that the required verification processes were duly followed through in arriving at the payment.
